Adding lighting packages to your wedding ceremony or reception can take your special day from ordinary to extraordinary! Lighting can add dramatic elements to a space and transform it into something down-right fab! Pinspot lights will enhance floral décor and spotlight the cake while uplighting and color washing can add warmth and extravagance to the walls.

Using monogram projections on your dance floor gives the look of a custom dance floor without the high costs! And, do not forget the outdoor portion of your wedding, lighting the bar and cocktail hour can set the mood right from the beginning! Using globe lights or other types of twinklers will add romance and a wash of soft light over the area!

Will you be using lighting? Say yes!

We cannot wait for Cinco De Mayo and love the festivities, but who wants all the calories of margaritas?! We sure don’t – so instead we opt for skinny margs which are surprisingly easy to make!  Skip the sugary mixes and use natural lime juice and a diet lemon-lime soda or a lemonade crystal light pack; the lime juice and the sweetness of the soda will ensure you do not miss a traditional mix!  These options bring a margarita to a mere 90 calories – Salud!

Ever considered having a Cinco De Mayo wedding?! No? Well this Themed Thursday will definitely make you reconsider!  We love the bright colors and flavorful elements incorporated into a festive fiesta!  Use kitschy elements like piñata escort cards and poncho table runners or more vintage and elegant pieces like authentic Mexican glassware and beautiful paper lanterns and flags.  Literally, the possibilities are endless. Don’t forget to include the paper flowers in bouquets and boutonnieres – so cute!  For favors, we love custom labels on imported beer or individual tequila bottles. And a definite must is a make-your-own Margarita Bar! Salud!

Feliz Cinco De Mayo a ti!

While traditional linen etiquette states that you should stick with solids, we whole-heartedly disagree!  We are absolutely loving bold linens for wedding receptions!  Patterns and textures make for a huge impact on cocktail rounds, cake tables and to spotlight the sweetheart table! We are down right obsessed with this season’s break out styles like sequined chevrons and rosettes!  Custom linens may be a bit of a splurge for your budget, but trust me they definitely deliver a big impact and is the first thing guests will see as they set their drink down on a cocktail table or sit down to dinner!

What linens are you looking at for your event?

We are loving ceremonies where the bride and groom have wedding processional or recessional music that is non-traditional!  Just picture your joyous day with equally joyous music!  Choose songs that mean something to you and your hubby-to-be, and songs that match your wedding style!

If it anything other than Canon D or the Wedding March seems unheard of trying inserting some style and personality with just the recessional – after the big kiss being able to dance your way down the aisle is too adorable to pass up!

What are your favorite wedding ceremony songs?

This Baby Shower had its trendy theme, Pink Ombre, incorporated into every aspect of the design! Ombre effects were used from the ribbons on floral arrangements by Elegant By Design, to guest gift bags and paper goods designed by Cherish Paperie, to linens and the gorgeous dessert bar, from Sweets Indeed, including the most whimsical balloon backdrop! Vintage mini glass baby bottles, Baby Reagan block lettering, from Aunt JJ’s Attic, and a beautiful vintage couch from Found Rentals added to the décor and made for a funfilled prop for photo opts and gift opening.

Guests partook in games, including guessing the age of the mommy-to-be in childhood photos, and they loved guessing how big the mommies belly was – no joke, the two children in attendance, ages 5 and 9 were the winners!   The guest book had prompts for people to give advice to the new parents throughout the first year with baby Reagan.  A light lunch was served with Strawberry Mint water and champagne infused with fruit of the guests’ choice!

And all these gorgeous details were captured beautifully thanks to APictureLife, to see more photos visit our Facebook!

A few weeks after the hour, beautiful baby Reagan was born!!!  She has become Katie’s favorite little one and is just as cute as can be…congrats to Brianna and Evan on their beautiful baby girl!
