AN INTERTWINED EVENT: SERRA PLAZA WEDDING

Summer and Mike had abeautiful Serra Plaza Weddingin San Juan Capistrano in Orange County. Their inspiration came from Summer’s love for mercury glass – it easily tied in all of my ideas/color schemes/little details; it could blend my desire for a little bit of vintage, romantic, and rustic.

Summer and Mike also love craft beer and wanted to incorporate it in a creative way – the men’s boutonnieres had hops in them as a succulent! Garlands of hops were also decorated the cocktail area. We also had a mixed cocktail hour and craft beer tasting in between the ceremony and reception. We had personalized taster tulip glasses and coasters passed out while guests were enjoying our three craft beers on tap: ‚ÄòAle You Need Is Love’ (home brew with coriander and orange peel), Beachwood Brewing Knucklehead Red, and Bootleggers Old World Hefewizen.

Summer and Mike’s favorite wedding moment was when they got a chance to have a breather; we had champagne and appetizers waiting for us in the bridal suite and 15 minutes to just finally spend a quiet and intimate moment together to soak it all in. It was amazing to just relax, laugh and smile about the last few hours leading up to the ceremony.

Their words of advice to new brides is to keep all of your vendors in the loop with your vision, in addition trust – We put a lot of trust into our vendors. We had a few details and a theme/vision but liked that we let each vendor still have the flexibility to use their creativity to execute the details.
