This season is busy enough as it is, but if you are one of the few and proud that host holiday parties you many need some tips to keep your stress level manageable so that you can enjoy this season and plan your party like a pro!
1)Make a List – This sounds so silly, but it is insane how many people do not make a checklist to prioritize items and make sure you stay on track! This is the easiest way to reduce stress for a holiday party!
2)Cook Ahead – Do not try to cook everything the day of! That is simply too difficult and you’ll be up (and exhausted) for hours. Cooking soups and saucesa day before actually makes them taste better because the flavors have time to build, and items that can be frozen (desserts, drinks, etc)are a for sure day-before-item and time saver!
3)Keep It Simple – Worrying about centerpieces and flowers can be a huge stress for your party. Instead focus on lasting items that you can use as decoration in the house the whole season through. Fill apothecary jars with pinecones, berries, or ornaments and fill planters with poinsettias – done and done!
4)Ask For Help – No one is put off by being asked to bring a dish! Plan ahead what you want to cook for the main meal and ask your guest to bring an appetizer or dessert! This is also a fun way to share holiday traditions, not to mention the work and cost of an event.
5)Keep It Festive – Provide one or two signature holiday drinks like Cider, Hot Chocolate and Peppermint Schnapps or Eggnog and Rum, along side beer, wine and water. This keeps guests in the holiday spirits – pun intended! In addition, stock your home stereo with various holiday CDs so that the music never stops playing and theroom is always filled with festive sound!
What are you favorite party planning tips?!
