It seems crazy to say, but sleep is one of the key factors to getting fit! The relationship between sleeping and working out is a complex one. First, your body begins to repair muscles as soon as you stop working out, but it needs the proper amount of sleep to fully repair and lessen soreness. Second, you tend to sleep sounder, longer, and wake up more refreshed when you are working out regularly! Lastly, we tend to make bad decisions when we are overtired. Getting a full night’s sleep will ensure you have the energy to work out the next day and make the best food choices! Sounds like a win, win to us!
Another fun tip? Drink tart cherry juice before bed, the healthy carbs help boost your brain’s production of serotonin (the neurochemical that can help induce sleepiness)!
Sweet Dreams!
