Rome Was Not Built In A Day!
I literally had to the print this out and post it above my computer screen in my office, so I would see it every day. In fact some days I made it my status update for Facebook! As the owner of an
Event Planning business, patience is everything. You are only as good as your last event, and clients (mostclients)only come from referrals. So the more events you do the more clients you get. That makes for a very slow start, where patience is everything.
But patience and an event planner are not two things that inheritantly go hand-in-hand. In fact, the best qualities of an event planner are they are a RIGHT NOW kind of person. They take action, they get the ball rolling, they think of everything and they get it all done – NOW! Patience, nope no time for patience there are lists to make, vendors to call, timelines to create, agendas to juggle. But the greatest lesson I have learned is to slow down and enjoy the ride. Take my time, make decisions that count for not only now, but five years from now. I know that if I want to go the distance, if I want my company to stand the test of time (and an awful economy) patience is the name of the game. And the best part…the referrals keep coming, the business keeps growing! But even still, I have to look up at the top of my monitor to remind myself that Rome was not built in a day!
Dream Big.
