First of all, if you ever watch Oprah and have seen the amazing Colin Cowie in action, you must be obsessed with his work like I am! He is one of the best in the business – whether it’s a wedding, a social event or an Oprah party, Colin is “the man” in the industry. And I’m sure his prices represent that! J

The main point is his quote above…he is the best in the biz because he gets it. He gets why people hire planners, and more importantly, how to make his customers happy they hired him.

I think this quote is a great representation of a good planner. It’s not about how you think things should be done, but how you interpret your client’s requests. I get it. It’s not about keeping traditions, but about creating new ones. It’s not about doing it by the book, but by the customer’s dreams and visions. It’s not about what’s trendy, but what defines the customer.

It’s one of the reasons I love planning events more than anything else; it’s the opportunity to get into someone’s mind and thoughts, interpret their needs and WOW them everytime!
