January 31, 2011

At the end of 2010, I have to admit that I was ready for it to be over. I had been through a lot over the year, was tested more times than I could count and just wanted to “catch a break” for a little bit…then I realized if I wanted that to happen, I needed to do it for myself.
Since the year started, we’ve been awarded the Bride’s Choice Award 2011 from Wedding Wire, as well as listed as one of The Knot’s Best of Weddings for 2011. We were honored to be selected by both organizations and feel inspired to keep doing more.
It’s only January and we’ve booked more weddings for 2011 than we did for 2009 and 2010 combined! We couldn’t be more excited about the amazing couples we have the opportunity to work with this year; their ideas are so creative, their venue choices are outstanding and the love each has for one another is truly motivating. Meeting all these amazing couples over the last fews weeks has reminded me why I love what I do; making the change from the corporate event world to social was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and this month has solidified that for me.
2011 is going to be a great year, not because “We deserve it,” but because Meghan and I are determined to make it that way. I’ve said it many times, but I feel so blessed to have the best business partner and to be working in one of the best industries out there. It’s easy to love what you do when you don’t think of your job as a job.
Thank you to all of those who have supported us throughout the first 2 years of Intertwined and into our 3rd year; we are excited for what the future has in store for us and look forward to working with so many new vendors, clients and partners throughout the years to come!
Continue to Elevate,
K.

Congratulations! I know you two are going to go far!
WOW! Your story kind of sounds like mine. Except we moved from Phx, AZ to the south (first Jacksonville, FL, now we’re in Nashville, TN). I loved your list of things you’ve learned so far. Funny!
I’ve been at the stay-at-home wife life for 12 years now. But I also work from home. (I’d have run screaming back to a traditional job years ago if I only had to worry about keeping the house!)
I really enjoyed your post!
