In honor of Father’s Day (this weekend!!) we want to honor the very special moment at the wedding – The Father-Daughter Dance! This danceis a widely celebrated tradition in which the father dances with his daughter at her reception to symbolize the giving away of daddy’s little girl. For this dance, there are some favoredsongs such as: The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra, Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle, and How Sweet it is to be Loved by You by Marvin Gaye.
However, you should not simply stick to the ordinary and traditional. The Father-Daughter Dance has caught up with modern times in many ways. If your father is not an available for the dance, it can include another important man in your lifesuch as an uncle, brother, grandfather, or even your mother! Also, you do not have to dance to the same traditional songs; pick a song that means something to you or is more up beat in tempo! Check out this video for a fun idea! It is SO CUTE!
Just remember, no matter if you go for the traditional or the contemporary – savor the moment as one that is very special indeed!
Dream Big.
