AN INTERTWINED EVENT: BOOKISH SAN DIEGO WEDDING

Getting to really know our couples is one of the most special parts of being a wedding planner. It’s even more special getting to meet all of their friends and family and getting to plan their special events, too! We were so honored to plan Shawna and Ben’s book themed San Diego wedding!

We were lucky to be introduced to the couple when we planned their friends, Megan and Casey‘s, wedding a few years ago. From the moment they walked in the door, started talking about their relationship and how they couldn’t wait to get married, we knew we would all have a blast!

When you begin your semester at Yale for Grad School, move across the country and get married in a year, that’s a lot to handle…but these two college sweethearts did all of that and more! To accompany the scholastic start of their love, the couple was inspired by books for their wedding. Guests were first introduced to the theme with stunning library card invitations. From the library setting, to the card catalog escort cardholder, to the books within the centerpieces, the story of their love became the theme of the event.

Shawna and Ben shared a special moment before the wedding when they exchanged love letters instead of having a first look.

San Diego Central Library featured the most gorgeous views for Shawna and Ben to celebrate their union of love! The reception space was private, and even had an outdoor patio for cocktail hour.

We loved being able to share a sneak peek of the wedding back in January (thanks to their wonderful photographers!), and are thrilled for the happy couple. We wish you all the best!
