Who can deny that the Wedding Cake is one of the best parts of the reception – looking at it and eating it?! And the cake cutting is one of the most photographed moments, too, so you better have a cake that is just asfabulous as you are!Hare are 7 new trends (and our favorite tips)to keep in mind while selecting your perfect cake!
1)Height Equals Drama – no matter what the size of your wedding, multi-tier wedding cakes are on the rise. If it means multiple flavors or adding in faux tiers for the drama the tall cake is a must!
2)It’s All About the Taste – we are throwing fruit and fondant to the wind in exchanged for scrumptious flavors and buttercream! Choosing you and your hubbies favorite flavors like red velvet or chocolate orange and topping it with buttercream is the way to go, and not to worry you can still get the smooth beautiful lookof fondant without the awful taste!
3)Cake and Dessert Tables – Why have just one sweet treat when you could have a table full of all of your favorites?! Having a dessert table allows for you and your guest to choose what they want or have more than one thing! These stations can become a beautiful centerpiece or a lovely party favor, too!
4)Simple is Better – more often than ever before, cakes arebeing decorated with just a few flowers. This look is beautiful an classyand allows the cake to speak for itself without being covered in intricate, sometimes busy, designs.
5)Bold Shapes – You no longer need to stick with round, branching out and using a square or more curvy shape will have your cakestandingout!
6)Soft Colors – Cakes should look and be edible, always!.Stick with soft, natural colors that compliment your scheme instead of bright bold ones that look plastic and anything but delicious!
7)Not Having a Cake at All – Why have a cake if it is not your style?! More people are choosingpies or cupcakes to satisfy their sweet tooth on their sweetest day!
What is your favorite wedding cake trend of 2011?!

Howdy would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
