A lot of the Do It Yourself things you see out there look more like HAPDIFY – Have a Professional Do It For You, but if you know how to select the right project for your skill level and work with clear estimates of time, labor and costs – you can truly create unique and custom creations for your Wedding Day (without the hot glue gun burns and failed attempts!)
To start with, find a DIYwebsite that not only shows you what you’re making butthen gives you templates, that way it is a lot easier to follow along! For example, Martha Stewart Weddings has great printable templates that allow you to print your sign lettering right on the page, and you just cut and string!
The Wedding Chicks have a huge variety of DIY items from invitation suites to edible wedding favors, they offer you downloadable templates or tell you where to get the supplies!
Lastly, Ruffled Blog offers step-by-step instructions and pictures to follow! The trick to any good DIY is detailed instructions, complete templates, and pictures – lots of pictures!
But, when all else fails – head over to Etsy and let the crafty people create for you!
What DIY projects have you created and loved? We would love to feature them on our Facebook Page. So please do send us pictures and instructions!
