AN INTERTWINED EVENT: WATERCOLOR WEDDING AT SCRIPPS SEASIDE

When Katie got the call that her college roomie & BFF got engaged, we all knew we were in for a treat! Cue perfection, which came in the form of one of the prettiest watercolor weddings we have seen at Scripps Seaside!

Their love story is straight out of a movie, and it all began with a silly puppy…

Kristin took her new puppy (and we mean SERIOUS puppy) to the dog park, which was probably the best mistake she ever made. Kevin saw her struggling to keep her big puppy tame and decided to help her. One thing led to another, and a few years later we’re planning their dream wedding!

The Chicago-based couple wanted to fully incorporate the ocean in every aspect, so it was a no-brainer we would use a soft water palette! The seaside ceremony had an array of ivory dahlias, soft pink peonies, blush garden roses and dusty miller on tall glass vases. The aisle was adorned with swirls of ivory rose petals. And to complete the fab ceremony look, white washed chiavari chairs were beautified with a garland of ombre blooms – absolutely to-die-for!

Guests walked into a ballroom draped in white and tables that were dressed in champagne shantung linens. The linens perfectly complimented the lush mound centerpieces, which were emerging from gold and silver mercury vases.

Since the two rascals who started it all couldn’t be in attendance, we thought of the next best things to make sure they were well represented…HOT DOGS, duh! As a late night snack, guests could choose from a Kenzie Dog (Kristin’s dog), which was a yummy California Turkey dog or from a Sydney Dog (Kevin’s dog), which was an authentic Chicago hot dog. Mmmmm….So delish!

The party really started when Tim (the DJ) blew the guests away with his rendition of Devil Went Down to Georgia!! He truly played his heart out since this was one of his last performances as a wedding DJ. No one could turn up the party better than him!

Kristin and Kevin really went out of their way to ensure that all their guests had the best time ever. From hosting a welcome reception on Friday night to providing transportation to and from the Scripps Seaside to throwing one of the most fun weddings to date!

And as a surprise to Katie, the couple really went out their way to ensure that their amazing wedding planner and friend received a very special gift. Kristin and Kevin had their wedding favor be a donation to RAD Camp (Katie’s non-profit)! Katie is still trying to figure out how they pulled it off since she was involved every step of the planning process….

In all, Kristin and Kevin’s wedding was one to remember! Wishing them nothing but the best! And sending so much love to their two doggies aka Cupid 1 and 2! Congrats again!
