When two lovebirds compliment each other perfectly, their gorgeous San Juan Capistrano wedding is sure to wow their friends and family! Melody and Reid share the bride’s love of birds, their love for music, and most importantly their love for each other! With their closest friends andfamily in a beautifully romantic setting, they had a lovely wedding day.
The story of Melody and Reid is definitely unique! Reid’s twin sister Darcy was at work just like any other day when in walks the new girl – Melody. Within 5 minutes of talking to Melody, Darcy’s twin intuition told her that she had just met her future sister-in-law. After a few weeks of playing match maker trying to get them to meet, one office encounter and a 3 hour lunch later, the rest is history. Darcy not only served as matchmaker, but she also played the part of Melody’s maid of honor for the big day.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting than the tranquillity of the Villa in San Juan to bring this couples vision to life. Melody’s love of birds was visible throughout the venue from the names of each table, to the tablescape decor, cake topper and paper goods. Melody finds something intriguing yet peaceful about birds and was surrounded by them on her special day. She spent the last year collecting these beautiful brass bird statues to decorate the tables with and to show the guests where they would be sitting for dinner.
The one downfall to this gorgeous venue is when the train passes by – but not to worry, each groomsman was armed with a train whistle which they kept hidden in their pockets during the ceremony waiting for the perfect time to bring them out. As the train passed by the groomsmen blew their whistles and brought laughter to the ceremony while playing off the charm of downtown San Juan Capistrano.
Melody and Reid wanted to make their guests feel included in the ceremony so they decided to choose a handful of people and gave them each an adjective – then asked them to come up with something clever, a funny anecdote, quote or description of what that word meant to them and to a great marriage. As the officiant, and groomsman, called out each word the guest tasked with that particular one would stand and share their thoughts with the couple. It was a truly unique and special way to involve their guests.
Their eclectic taste in music was seen throughout the night from the Harpist at the ceremony, to their classic 1st dance routine with a twist of pop to the array of songs that guests danced to throughout the evening. And to top it all off Reid, who just so happens to be a very talented piano player and someone who has lived his life surrounded by his love of music, not only met the love of his life, but he now has his very own Melody.
