AN INTERTWINED EVENT: 1920’S HOLLYWOOD WEDDING

Remember the days of the Rat Pack. Of gals in stunning gowns, and gents with cigars in hand. Lounges, with dimmed lights and shiny chandeliers. Martinis in every hand. Where the who’s who of Hollywood all vacationed in Palm Desert and glamour oozed out of every corner.Luxe furniture, big bands, white luscious florals and of course glitzy rhinestones and feathers at Lauren and Ray’s Hollywood wedding brought back the romance of old Hollywood that would have made even the Great Gatsby gasp!

Now, bring to center stage a couple who’s roads to each other may not have been easy, but who’s love and dedication for one another turned a wedding day into an unforgettable celebration – where the vendors were brought to tears!

This Hollywood wedding truly had it all! The colors incorporated a bold palette of black, white and gold. But color wasn’t enough – the experience was made real through the textiles and texture of materials and patterns that included letter pressed paper, foil, acrylic, leather, pearls, velvet, satin and more!

Beginning with the ceremony, Inviting Occasions created a structure that replicated the chandeliers of the Cosmopolitan Hotel Lobby, the couple’s favorite “2nd Home!” The mirrored bar at cocktail hour invited guests to experience the signature drink, a variation of different flavored martinis. Then, they were invited in, entering the doors that were flanked by stunning structures encasing either side of the ballroom- two mirrored walls enhanced by chandelier decals with acrylic crystals hanging as escort cards displaying each guests name and table assignment – a momento of the evening!

From the time the guests received the opulent wedding invitation with a custom chandelier monogram (that would appear on everything from paper goods to ice sculptures to the dance floor gobos) the guests knew it was going to be an amazing celebration.

The guests waltzed in the doors to the sounds of a big band playing the best of the 1920’s while trying to catch their breath as they took in the sight of the ballroom. An oversized dance floor was surrounded by variations of different seating vignettes from mirrored tables to cozy black tufted booths to long glass tables with candelabras and hanging floating candles. A true homage to the sultry lounges of yesteryear! No two centerpieces were the same! Hanging candles seemed to float below 6 foot golden structures. Glass candelabras were surrounded by sparkling boxes bursting with white arrangements. Textured containers played host to a variation of florals and candles! The four-foot acrylic cake stand, overflowing with pearls and rhinestones, was softly lit in the glow of candles.

Should guests need a break from the dancing and dining, a cigar lounge (of course!) was constructed with plush furniture in the patio area or they could refill their glasses from the custom martini ice luge, and for those who need a little sugar at the end of the evening, they could get their fix with martini flavored cotton candy – delicious!

The beautiful bride and groom were not only gracious hosts on their Hollywood wedding night, but wanted their friends and family to celebrate with them the entire weekend and brought the same attention to detail while they hosted everyone for a welcome dinner, day of play with golf, spa and cabanas at the pool, morning-after breakfast as well as a farewell dinner to send everyone off in style!

It may not be the 1920’s any longer, but for one weekend, a couple brought back the true glamour, romance and glitz we all have come to love and adore from that era, as they promised to love one another and unite their families forever!
