There are many dances incorporated into wedding receptions that are full of meaning, love, and letting go. Take the father-daughter dance, for example. Years ago, the tradition was for the father-daughter dance to be combined with the newlyweds first dance together. The father would dance with his daughter, and midway through the song he would hand off his daughter to her new husband. This signified the fathers trust and acceptance of his new son-in-law. Although the dances are now separate, the significance still stands! It is just one last time for all you daddy’s girls to dance the night away with your old man! The same significance goes for the mother-son dance. It is a special moment for all youbig grown up boys to express your love to your mother’s through song and dance. After all, she helped you become the man that you are today!
The best part about these dances is yoursong choice! Choose something that you and your parent sang or danced to while you were growing up. Or, choose a song that expresses your love and gratitude for your parent. Either way, this dance is sure to create a beautiful memory!
